Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, John Dramani Mahama’s 2020 running mate, has stated that Ghanaians are waiting for the Akufo-Addo government to clarify the meaning of the word “review” since they say “review” means cancel ahead to the 2020 elections.
It would be useful to know how the government plans to examine its flagship social intervention program, Free Senior High School, according to her.

Reduce your government’s size – Prof. Adei has invited President Akufo-Addo Ofori-Atta to speak to Ghanaians today about steps to resuscitate the economy.
Prior to the 2020 election, President Akufo-Addo encouraged Ghanaians not to allow the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to “examine” the government’s signature free secondary school program if it wins power.
If won in the approaching 2020 general elections, then-NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama announced at a meeting with the Ghana National Council for Private Schools (GNACOPS) that he will “examine” the Free-SHS policy within his first 90 days in office.
He criticized insufficient stakeholder involvement in determining the most effective strategies to administer the initiative.
However, as the President pointed out, giving the opposition “review” means canceling a program that has helped Ghanaians.
Following President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-crunch Addo’s Peduase cabinet meeting to find solutions to the country’s current economic crisis, it was reported that Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, the Information Minister, hinted that the government will announce a review of all 16 flagship programs, including free SHS, as part of measures to resolve the economic situation.
Oppong-Nkrumah has since refuted the report, claiming that he never used the word “review” in any of the interviews he gave following the retreat on March 20, 2022.
Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, speaking at the launch of the TEIN App on Monday, couldn’t understand why the same people who said that John Dramani Mahama’s usage of the word “review” meant “cancel” would want to do the same thing.
“Others assumed we were going to cancel when we said’review.'” “Today, we’re waiting for the definition of review from the ‘Black Dictionary,’ because that is the source that they utilize for a lot of things,” she said to applause from the auditorium audience.
