The Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif had a slap of his life last night after a mass brawl broke out in Parliament.
The fight was triggered by confusion on the E-levy and an attempt by the Deputy Speaker, Joe Osei Wusu to vote.
The Minority had earlier contended that per parliament’s standing orders, the Speaker of Parliament does not have a casting vote, however, Joe Osei-Owusu indicated that he would still vote.
The brawl saw dozens of the opposition parliamentarians exchange fisticuffs with their colleagues on the majority side while some officials of parliament tried to protect the Speaker’s seat and the mace of parliament from being attacked.
Mustapha Ussif who was defending the side of the Majority was heckled and handed a hefty slap by an unidentified MP who was on the side of the Minority.
Pictures of the slap have since gone viral on social media with many questioning the identity of the NDC MP who slapped the MP for the Yagaba-Kubori constituency.
