Sosu Runs to Court to Enforce His Right; Sues IGP Dampare As He Seeks Injunction Against His Arrest
The Member of Parliament for Madina Constituency, Francis Xavier Sosu is seeking an injunction against his arrest by the police.
Mr Sosu has been a wanted man since he led his constituents in a demonstration demanding better roads.
The police after failed attempts to arrest him filed a criminal case against the MP.
Sosu who is also a human rights lawyer himself is asking an Accra High Court to order for the enforcement of his right to freedom of movement, right to protest and demonstrate, right to personal liberty, right to freedom of expression and right against unlawful arrest and malicious prosecution.
He’s also asked for an injunction to restrain the police from arresting him until the final determination of his human rights action.
