Bishop Salifu Amoako, General Overseer of Alive Chapel International, has publicly expressed profound sorrow and issued a formal apology to the families of two young girls who tragically lost their lives in an accident involving his 16-year-old son, Elrad Salifu Amoako. The accident, which has deeply shaken the Bishop and his family, led to his and his wife’s arrest as part of the ongoing investigation. They were granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court, set at GHC50,000, on Wednesday.
In a heartfelt statement, Bishop Amoako acknowledged the immense pain caused by the incident, describing it as a devastating event that has left his family in deep anguish. “The days that have followed this tragedy have been incredibly difficult for us, especially as my son was at the center of this horrific accident,” he said.
He went on to express his grief, stating, “I am devastated, and no amount of words can undo this terrible incident. I have cried so much… But all I can ask now is for God’s comfort and strength to be with the affected families during these trying times.” The Bishop also made a public plea, asking Ghanaians to join him in seeking the families’ forgiveness and offering prayers for their healing.
While some members of the public have responded with empathy, others have expressed skepticism about the sincerity of his apology, pointing out that no apology can bring back the lives of the young victims. Nevertheless, Bishop Amoako continues to ask for compassion and prayers for all parties involved, hoping for a path toward healing.
The tragic accident and its aftermath have drawn widespread attention, with ongoing discussions about responsibility and the way forward for all affected families.
