Since When Did Hopeson Become A Spokesperson For Ashantis?- Bright Nyampong

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth Organizer for the Obuasi West Constituency, Bright Nyampong, has cautioned Hopeson Adorye to stop holding himself out as spokesperson for Ashantis.

His caution stems from a comment by Mr. Adorye that has sharply divide supporters of Vice President Bawumia and Trade Minister, Alan Kyeremanten.

Mr. Adorye is reported to have said during the ‘Aduru Woso’ walk that “The NPP has a tradition. Our tradition is Busia, Danquah and Dombo. Danquah represents Eastern Region and the bottom (south), Danquah represents Ashanti Region and the Bono areas, while Dombo represents Northern Region. The Dombos are always in the mix and fit as running mates to either a Danquah candidate or a Busia candidate. That tradition must continue.”

In responding to the comment, Bright Nyampong stated that Hopeson undermined the structure of the party with his utterance.

“Since when did you become our spokesperson?… you want to destroy the structure of the party. You are not our spokesperson and you are not part of us if you want to go that tangent”, he said.
