A group calling itself The Concerned Youth of Ashanti, led by the founder and National Chairman of the United Front Party, Nana Agyenim Boateng, popularly known as ‘Gyataba’ has thrown a challenge to President Akufo-Addo and his party to point out what they have done for the Ashanti Region.
Gyataba, who was addressing a news conference yesterday, insisted that the ruling party has taken the Ashanti Region for granted for too long even though the region has consistently voted overwhelmingly for them.
Agyenim Boateng cited the instance when the NDC flagbearer, John Mahama visited the Asantehene to officially introduce his running mate, Prof. Jane Naana, and made mention of all that he did for the region while he was at the helm of affairs of the country, daring the NPP to also name their achievements in the region, if there were any.
According to Gyataba, the Ashanti Region is blessed with enormous resources, whose revenue is used for developmental projects in other regions while the Ashanti Region is left in a sorry state.
