Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has waded in on the immediate-past Deputy Trade Minister, Carlos Kinsley Ahenkorah’s Coronavirus brouhaha.
Carlos Ahenkorah incurred the wrath of Ghanaians after he toured some Electoral Commission registration centres while he had tested positive for the Coronavirus.
In an interview he said, “I drove in my car and got there, got down, and spoke far away with the EC officer who explained the issue to me. I told her I will report this to their boss and then I just left. I was very careful. It is important for people like us to know their status because whether you like it not, we will go into the midst of people.”
He had been heavily criticised after this comment which has eventually led to his resignation.
However, many are still calling for a possible prosecution for the MP just as has been done to some Covid-19 protocol offenders.
Communications Minister, Ursula Owusu Ekuful, on her part, believes the calls are unfounded and exaggerated.
Okudzeto Ablakwa joining the conversation quizzes if other Covid-19 offenders should remain in jail.
In a post on Facebook he asked, “should the Pastors and other Covid-19 offenders remain in jail?”
