Syndicated Entertainment Solution (SES) has partnered with the National Lottery Authority (NLA) and the Gaming Commission to officially launch the Ghana Gaming and Lottery Awards. This innovative awards scheme aims to recognize and promote compliant and responsible gaming practices within the lottery and gaming industry.

The Ghana Gaming and Lottery Awards, launched on June 28, 2024, in Accra, are designed to encourage stakeholders in the industry to prioritize people and national development by ensuring responsible participation in gaming activities.

Manuella Frempomaa Ansong, Director of SES, emphasized the importance of recognizing excellence in the gaming and lottery sector. “In partnership with the NLA and the Gaming Commission, we aim to create a prestigious event that celebrates achievements across various categories within the industry. By collaborating with the regulatory bodies, we ensure the credibility and integrity of the Awards,” she stated. Ansong also highlighted the need for the industry to remain a controlled activity, free from negative impacts arising from non-compliance.

NLA Director General Sammie Awuku described the launch of the Awards as a groundbreaking initiative that will encourage all stakeholders to comply with regulations and best international practices. “The Awards scheme will project the contributions of the industry to the Ghanaian society, demystify myths about the game, and highlight the nuances that make up the game’s mechanics and dynamics,” Awuku said. He praised SES for their efforts and noted that the scheme will reward retailers, operators, and agents for their loyalty and diligence in promoting the game.

The Awards also aim to expose and discourage illegal lottery operations. “Together with the Gaming Commission, we are committed to ensuring the success of the Gaming and Lottery Awards and making it a viable reward platform for our stakeholders,” Awuku assured.

Chief Executive Officer of the Gaming Commission of Ghana, Peter Mireku, highlighted the crucial role of the gaming and lottery industry in national development. Addressing guests at the launch, Mireku underscored the importance of recognizing excellence to foster innovation and promote responsible practices, which is essential for halting the stigma associated with the industry. “The vision to encourage stakeholders to focus on people and national development is something we at the Gaming Commission wholeheartedly support. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our co-regulator, the NLA, for this collaboration that seeks to create a safe and compliance-oriented industry,” Mireku indicated.

The Ghana Gaming and Lottery Awards promise to be a significant event, celebrating innovation, responsible gaming, and the outstanding contributions of industry players, while reinforcing the importance of compliance and integrity in the gaming and lottery sector.
