SDA Church Reportedly Suspends Great Ampong For Violating Church Doctrine

Ghanaian Gospel musician Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong, widely known as Great Ampong, has been suspended by the Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church for actions deemed to be in violation of the church’s doctrines.

According to sources, the decision to suspend the musician followed a thorough investigation by a panel appointed by the church.

The investigation concluded that Great Ampong had repeatedly breached several key tenets of the SDA faith. The most notable violations included his participation in funerals and performances on Saturdays, a day the church designates for Sabbath observance and rest.

While the church had previously chosen to overlook these infractions, understanding the demands of his career as a musician, the situation escalated when Great Ampong was recently ordained as a pastor during a visit to the United States. This ordination, viewed as contrary to the teachings and protocols of the SDA Church, prompted church leaders to take formal disciplinary action.

The suspension marks a significant move by the SDA Church, emphasizing the importance of adherence to its doctrines, especially for those in leadership positions.
