Scrap Monitoring And Evaluation, Special Development Ministries; They’re “Useless” – Muntaka

Minority Chief Whip Muntaka Mubarak has called on President Akuffo Addo to scrap the Monitoring and Evaluation, Special Development Ministries as they are a drain on state coffers.

Speaking to Kwabena Prah on Accra FM’s Ghana Yensom, the Asawase Member of Parliament asserted that these ministries are already doing jobs other ministries can easily do and causing needless drain on the state’s coffers.

“Now, you have the Ministry of Special Development doing ambulances when the Ministry of Health is there. They are doing furniture for schools when the Ministry of Education is there. This is a very useless ministry that should be scrapped,”

“Another one is the Ministry of Monitoring and Evaluation. That is also a useless ministry. I have called on the president to scrap these ministries.”

Honourable Muntaka added that, he has no issues with the ministers in charge of these ministries because he knows them personally and they’re fine ministers. However. the ministry assigned to them is a ‘useless’ and ‘hopeless’ one.
