Sammy Gyamfi Lied About Police Launching A Manhunt For Basintale – Ghana Police

The Ghana Police Service has dismissed claims that Malik Basintale, the Deputy Communications Director for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has been declared wanted. This follows an allegation made by Sammy Gyamfi, the NDC’s Communications Director, on social media, which suggested that Basintale was being pursued by the police over comments about Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s eating habits.

In a statement, the Police refuted these claims, emphasizing that the reports circulating on social media are false. The police urged the public to disregard the allegations, advising that they be treated with contempt.

“The attention of the Ghana Police Service has been drawn to a claim circulating on some social media platforms to the effect that Malik Basintale has been declared wanted by the Police. We wish to categorically state that the claim is false,” the statement read.

The police clarified that there is no ongoing manhunt for Malik Basintale and called on the public to remain informed through verified sources.
