Sammy Gyamfi Gets Results – GRA Confiscates 436 Illegal Pistols And Ammunition He Exposed At Tema Port

The Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has impounded some pistols and ammunition at the Tema Port.

This is after the National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Sammy Gyamfi raised an alarm and called the attention of the media and authorities to an alleged 436 pistols and ammunition illegally imported into the country from Turkey some days ago.

A GRA statement said the authority collaborated with some state security agencies to seize a 20-footer container containing 436 pistols, 26 packs of 50 pieces of ammunition and 1(40millimetre) piece of pepper spray, that were smuggled into the country.

The arms and ammunition which was said to be concealed in personal effects made up of clothing, shoes and bags among other items are now being kept at the armoury of GRA for further investigations.
