Second Lady Samira Bawumia has made a strong impact in the Eastern Region, leading efforts to rally support for her husband, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), ahead of the upcoming elections.
On the third day of her regional tour, Samira Bawumia engaged with the chiefs and residents of the Akwatia constituency, sharing her husband’s vision for Ghana’s future. During her outreach, she paid a courtesy visit to Nana Akua Asantewaa III, queenmother of the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, as she extended her campaign to the Asene/Manso/Akroso and Akim Oda constituencies. “I was honored to meet with Nana Akua Asantewaa III, and we had fruitful discussions on development and the empowerment of women and youth,” Samira Bawumia said.

During the Eastern Regional Women’s Conference held in Akwatia, Samira Bawumia underscored the importance of women’s empowerment and development, stressing her husband’s dedication to enhancing opportunities for women across Ghana.
“Dr. Bawumia’s vision places a strong focus on economic empowerment for women, alongside improved access to education and healthcare,” she highlighted, further assuring women that they would remain a key priority in the NPP’s policies.
