A Ghanaian lawyer and social media content creator, known as The Law GH, has revealed that Elrad Amoako, the son of renowned pastor Salifu Amoako, is unlikely to face jail time following an accident he caused, which tragically resulted in the deaths of two people. The lawyer explained that under Ghanaian law, juveniles cannot be subjected to imprisonment, regardless of the nature of their offense.
In a statement addressing the legal consequences for the juvenile, The Law GH clarified that while Elrad Amoako may face some form of punishment, the harshest outcome would be placement in a juvenile detention center. Even in that case, the law dictates that the duration of detention cannot exceed six months for most offenses.
For more serious crimes, such as murder, juveniles may be held for up to three years. However, the lawyer emphasized that he does not believe murder charges would apply in this particular incident, suggesting that the legal outcome will likely result in a shorter period of juvenile detention or alternative measures.
