Sack Adwoa Safo Now – Ben Ephson to NPP

The managing editor of The Daily Dispatch, Ben Ephson has urged the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) not to allow Adwoa Safo, MP for Dome-Kwabenya to hold the party to ransom.

Reports suggest that the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection has not been to the House for sometime now because she lost out on being nominated as the deputy Majority Leader in Parliament.

However, speaking to Beatrice Adu on The Big Bulletin on Monday (21 February), Ephson said the party should call Safo’s bluff and sack her to pave way for a by-election.

“If you’re sick, will you be dancing on TikTok? Because you want a particular position in Parliament and is not being given. I think they should call her bluff, ask her to leave Parliament, the NPP should conduct new primaries and if Adwoa Safo thinks that she’s popular in the constituency, she can contest as an independent parliamentary candidate and come to parliament as an independent,” the pollster said.

“…She should not be allowed to hold the party to ransom. For my information, she hasn’t brought enough gratification for her absence for 15-16 days, so they can invoke the article and ask her to vacate Parliament, make her leave Parliament through that route and there’ll be a new by-election,” Ephson said..
