Robbers Attack Pharmacy, Mobile Money Agent & ECG Prepaid Vendor

At Akuapem Mampong in the Akuapem North Municipality in the Eastern Region, suspected armed robbers targeted a pharmacy, a mobile money operator, and an Electricity Prepaid seller.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, September 28th, in the evening.

Before beating their victims and fleeing with undetermined cash and cell phones, the thieves allegedly smashed a CCTV camera in the precinct.

Nana Yirenkyi I, the Apesemakahene of Mampong Traditional Area, related the robbery to the Odwira Festival, which is gaining traction in the area with lively activities.

Nananom, on the other hand, has taken notice, according to him, and has met with the Police Command to discuss the need to beef up patrols.

He added that the Traditional Council will organize watchdog groups to supplement the police’s activities during the festival.

Inspector Francis Gomado, the Eastern Regional Police Command’s Deputy Public Relations Officer, informed Starr News that the unit has yet to receive a report on the incident.

Robberies in the Eastern Region have decreased in the last month as a result of the Acting Inspector General of Police’s deployment of the Anti-Armed Robbery Squad to the region. He also paid a working visit to parts of the region last week to reassure residents of the Police’s commitment to protecting them and their properties.
