Ridge Hospital Exhumes Body Of Top Rwandan Official Who Died Of COVID-19 For Investigations

The body of a top Rwandan official who died of Coronavirus had been exhumed by the Ridge Hospital upon request from family members for identification and investigation.

The deceased by name Dr. Emmanuel was taken to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital popularly known as the Ridge Hospital for treatment for COVID-19 diagnosis.

However, he was pronounced clinically dead by doctors at the hospital on Thursday, July 9 as his medical report or folder showed that he had indeed died of the Coronavirus.

Reports reaching us indicate that, Dr. Emmanuel who was a medical doctor at Rwanda as was the standard was booked at the hospital’s corporate services before being admitted.

However, subsequent attempts by the family to locate his body for the required documentation after his death proved futile not even with the morgue attendants.

This raised so much concern among the family and the hospital staff as they were no data of the body being conveyed out of the facility.

Continual force from the family has however prompted the hospital authority to exhume the body for identification and investigations as to how the body was sent for burial without standard documentation by hospital.
