Real Tamale United Charged with Breach of GFA Disciplinary Code

Real Tamale United (RTU) have been charged with a serious breach of Section 34(6)(d) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Code, 2019. The charges follow allegations of misconduct during their recent Ghana Premier League fixture against Dreams FC.

The GFA Prosecution’s preliminary findings suggest that RTU engaged in intentional deception by fielding unregistered players who impersonated officially registered members of the squad. This alleged act of misconduct has brought the club under severe scrutiny, as it directly undermines the integrity and reputation of the sport.

According to the GFA Disciplinary Code, such actions are considered severe offenses that compromise the fairness and legitimacy of the competition. In response to these allegations, RTU has been given until Friday, June 14, 2024, to formally respond to the charges.

The GFA Prosecution unit is actively conducting a detailed investigation to uncover the full extent of the alleged impersonation. This process includes verifying the identities of the players involved and ensuring that all regulatory protocols are strictly followed. The investigation aims to ascertain the true identities of the individuals who took part in the match under false pretenses.

Should the investigation confirm the allegations, the GFA is prepared to bring appropriate charges against any individuals found culpable. This rigorous approach underscores the GFA’s unwavering commitment to maintaining the integrity of the game and ensuring adherence to the established rules and regulations.
