Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen has noted that the kind of atrocities Jerry John Rawlings committed while a military leader should have been brought to bare before his death.
According to him, the former president should have made an open confession and seek the forgiveness of Ghanaians while he lived; adding that he always took him on whenever he had the chance.
“And I kept on saying that I wished Rawlings would one day come out openly to tell the whole world that ‘I Jerry John Rawlings as a human being, I might have stepped on the toes of some people and I do hereby render an unqualified apology to those individuals’ – That would have been the best. But he never made such confession,” he was quoted by mynewsgh.
Jerry John Rawlings was laid to rest on Wednesday January 27, 2021.
