Former Governor of the Bank of Ghana, and finance Minister under the NDC administration, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor has revealed that the late founder of the NDC, Jerry John Rawlings encouraged him to contest John Mahama for the flagbearership of the Party in 2018.
According to him, the late former President personally promised to lead his campaign, should he decide to contest former president John Mahama.
Dr. Duffuor, an astute financial expert and entrepreneur has emerged as the leading contender to challenge John Mahama for the flagbearership position of the NDC for the 2024 election.
Aside Dr. Duffuor, former Kumasi Mayor, Kojo Bonsu has also declared his intentions to contest for the flagbearership position of the NDC.
Meanwhile, former President John Mahama is still the likeliest candidate to lead the NDC according to popular opinion of NDC supporters.
