What was supposed to be a show of leadership and statesmanship by former President Rawlings in condemning the unfortunate situation in Nigeria turned into something else when some Ghanaians ceased the initiative to condemn the former President for hypocrisy.

However, some of the people who commented on the thread were of the opinion that the NDC founder had no moral right to condemn the violence and bloodshed considering his own background.
