Rawlings’ Final Public Statement Before His Demise

The sudden news of the demise of Ghana’s former president, Jerry John Rawlings has shaken the nation to its very core.

Mr Rawlings died on Thursay after battling an undisclosed illness at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, specifically, the Cardiothoracic Unit.

Just four days ago the former president sent a congratulatory message to President elect of the United States, Joe Biden.

He wrote on Twitter, “Congratulations to President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris.

“The world is expectant as a new era of United States leadership dawns. We look forward to a leadership that embraces unity, compassion and maturity.”

Sadly, this short statement was the last of Ghana’s vociferous leader.

He left behind his wife, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings and four children.
