Former MP for Zebilla Constituency, John Akparibo Ndebugri has linked the surprise resignation of Martin Amidu as the Special Prosecutor (SP) to the unfortunate demise of Ex. President J.J Rawlings.
According to Mr. Ndebugri, Mr. Amidu was Shepherded by the late former President who acted as a bridge between the SP and the government.
He explained that Mr. Rawlings also stood as a form of protection for Mr. Amidu, therefore his passing may have played a role in the resignation of the SP.
He further added that this resignation is a dent on the President and his failed pledge to nip corruption in the bud.
Mr. Ndebugri noted that questions must be asked of why Mr. Amidu has decided to bow out at such a time and in such a manner.
