President for the National Graduate Association of Teachers, Angel Carbonu says he’s unbothered about the high court’s ruling on the Achimota school versus Rastafarian student saga.
According to him, the ruling is only going to open a floodgate for all forms of hairstyles into various schools in the name of religious beliefs.
He cautioned parents not to apportion blame to teachers if there is a breakdown in societal values because the court’s ruling has taken the power of teachers to dictate a child’s appearance from their hands.
“We teachers don’t care about these rulings. We will develop a nonchalant attitude towards these issues. In the past when students misbehaved, we blamed teachers but now you can’t blame us. We don’t give a damn about this ruling. We have not lost anything. It’s a problem for the society,” he said on Okay FM.
