Prof. Naana Jane’s Appointment As Running Mate Did Not Help The NDC – Political Analyst

Mr Frederick Oduro, a political analyst and renowned governance expert, has said that the appointment as Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as running mate for the NDC flagbearer in the 2020 elections did not yield any benefits for the Party.

Mr Oduro clarified that his belief is premised on the results of the 2020 elections and not on any academic research he has conducted.

In an interview with GBC, Mr Oduro was of the opinion that the appointment of the Professor because of her gender did not entirely work for the NDC.

According to him, the fact that President Akufo-Addo won almost all the 22 constituencies polling 613,804 votes in the Central Region alone with NDC wining 538,829 is an indication that, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyeman did not do well in her own region.

He expressed surprise that the NDC could not even convincingly win Komenda where their running mate hails from.
