President Kuffuor And Akufo-Addo Almost Fought In Wenchi In 2008 – Asiedu Nketia Makes Shocking Revelation

The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has made a shocking allegation, claiming that then-President Kuffuor and candidate Akufo-Addo had a heated exchange that almost ended in a fight in K. A Busia’s house in Wenchi in 2008 during the run-up to the third round in Tain.

“Before we went to the Tain by-elections, President Kufuor said whoever will win Tain he will hand over power to him. Because of that, President Kufuor and Nana Addo fought in Busia’s house at Wenchi in the midst of some NPP top officials who were going to Tain for the by-elections. That is why they didn’t go to Tain at all for the by-elections”, he revealed on Accra-based Asempa Fm.

Explaining his point, General Mosquito narrated that “Nana Addo believed that President Kufuor should have used incumbency to get the elections in his favor. But they fought at Busia’s house and because of that none of the NPP top officials were at Tain.”

“If you remember, I also took the lead to Tain which is my backyard when Afari Gyan called for the by-elections. I told my people that when anyone comes to misbehave they should prevent them. Soldiers who were with 3BN also thoroughly searched the vehicles of people entering Tain so they don’t carry ammunition. That is why their [NPP] vigilantes couldn’t enter Tain” He emphasized.
