Pregnant Woman Killed, Unborn Baby Removed From Womb

The deceased was found dead in the Ekumfi District with cloth-covering her body with one of the baby’s legs missing.

A pregnant woman believed to be in her 40’s has been killed and had her baby removed from her belly at Ekumfi Akwakrom in the Ekumfi District in the Central Region.

Investigation conducted indicates that the woman is not known in the community and was only seen in the area on Thursday evening supposed to have visited somebody.

The woman’s unborn baby was placed beside her whiles one of its legs was chopped off with heavy blood oozing.

Speaking to some Eyewitnesses, they told that the deceased on Thursday evening, August 6, 2021, was spotted in the area only for her lifeless body to be found early Friday Morning around 6:00 am.

Some made known that they suspect that she was knocked down by the robbers’ vehicle and run over. 

 The Assembly Man of Ekumfi Akwakrom Electoral Area, James Entsie in an interview with Central Regional Soireenews Correspondent, Abusuapanyin Kojo Ahinful said he received a distress call that a Pregnant Woman has been killed and had her baby removed from the stomach.

He confirmed that the woman is not from his Assembly and can’t locate her whereabouts.

He, therefore, appealed to the general public to help identify the deceased woman.

The case has been reported to Ekumfi Esiohyia Police for an investigation.

The people of the area suspect the leg of the baby was chopped for money ritual.
