Police of the Central Regional Command has finally recovered the gun and the ammunition of the Member of Parliament of Awutu Senya East, Miss. Hawa Koomson, used by the lawmaker at a registration center in Kasoa.
Miss Hawa Koomson, also the Minister for Special Development and Initiative was invited by the police for investigations for the firing of gunshots by the Minister at a registration center at Kasoa.
The Minister admitted to firing the gun at Steps to Christ registration center at the Awutu Senya East Constituency on July 24,2020.
She however claimed she did it out of self-defense.
The police in a notice confirmed the news saying, “Regional Police CID Cape coast invited Hon. Hawa Koomson. She was taken through her statement. Police retrieved the weapon and ammunition together with a license covering the weapon.”
However, the Police have disclosed that, the docket to the case has been transferred to the headquarters of the Criminal Investigations Department(CID).
The actions of the lawmaker had called for lots of condemnation from the public and especially the incumbent opposition party, National Democratic Congress.
