Because of her tweets, actress Yvonne Nelson claims that persons close to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo no longer speak to her.
Ms. Nelson isn’t afraid to tweet about national issues and how the state’s administration and legislators are conducting things.
Some Ghanaians have said that she has been quiet and less critical of the Akufo-Addo administration than she was under the Mahama administration, but she denies this.
Her detractors, she claims, only want to see her in the streets, as she did during the NDC era with her iconic “Dumsor Must Stop” walk.
She stated that just because she is not out on the streets protesting this administration does not imply she is silent or less critical of it.
“I’m always talking about politics,” the multi-award-winning actress stated on Accra100.5FM.
They only want to see Yvonne Nelson out in front of the crowd demonstrating. So I did it during the NDC era, and I’ll have to do it again during the NPP era because that’s what they want to see, but it all started with social media.”
