The Greater Accra Regional Chairman for the National Peace Council, Rev. Samuel Osabutey, has said the council cannot be responding to every issue in the country as and when they happen.
According to him the peace council is not like a fire service that provides prompt responses to every problem.
The council has been under constant criticism for its failure to speak on some matters.
The main critique of the peace council is the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who have always been on their neck to show leadership and release statements on some happenings in the country.
Reacting to this, Rev Osabutey said “the Peace Council is not a fire service. The Peace Council is not a problem healer. We make sure we deeply access the issues and follow due process in putting things in place. We try to our work by peaceful engagements behind closed doors.”
