The Minister of Education Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh has revealed that over 90% of the staff in his ministry have tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.
Speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo, the minister said that a mass testing was conducted at the education ministry when it was confirmed that he had the Coronavirus. He added that majority of them were asymptomatic.
“After my second result come out as positive, testing was conducted on all staff at the ministry and the results showed that out of every 50 persons about 45 had contracted the virus. Most of them are asymptomatic so they are isolating at home,” he stated.
The minister, who is now doing well said his experience at the UGMC was not a very pleasant one as the virus is very real.
“For all the 52 years of my life I’ve never been admitted at the hospital before and it was not a pleasant experience. The disease is very real and I don’t wish it on even my foe,” he said.
