NPP’s Borrowing Is Better Than When NDC Was In Power – Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu

Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the MAJORITY LEADER, has declared that government borrowing is lower than the stock of borrowing between 2009 and 2017, when the NDC was in power, and has urged Ghanaians not to be duped by pretenders.

“The facts will tell the stories better,” he continued, implying that the present government has been on a borrowing binge.

“You borrowed in dollars; you borrowed in foreign currency, and any analytical person will notice that the amount or stock of borrowing between 2009 and 2017 was significantly greater in dollar terms than it is now,” the Majority Leader remarked on the floor of Parliament Wednesday.

“Don’t let any pretenders deceive you,” Mr. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said in response to the Minority NDC’s assertions that Ghana is currently suffering in debt levels not seen since the Fourth Republic. In comparison to what we have now, the borrowing stock was $75 billion. The truth will be revealed.”
