NPP Will Show Northerners Their ‘Stand’ In The Party In 2024 – Ben Ephson

Pollster, Ben Ephson says supporters of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) hailing from the Northern side of the country will get to know whether the party holds them in high esteem or just use them as believed in the 2024 polls.

His comment comes on the back of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia being tipped as favorite to be flagbearer of the party in 2024. However, with many knowing the NPP as an ‘Akan’ party, the Vice President is expected be replaced by Alan Kyeremanten.

Speaking on Joy FM, Mr Ephson said “If NPP settles for another Akan, there is going to be that feeling from persons from the Northern regions who have been voting for the NPP that the NPP uses and dumps them especially when the late Aliu Mahama (may he rest in peace) got less than 7 percent in the 2007 presidential race of the NPP. So that could lead the people to think that they only use them for votes and judging from 2020, the Northern regions gave the NPP quite a fair number of seats”.
