NPP Will Lose Should Elections Be Held Today – Lecturer

A senior lecturer at the political science department of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr. Amakye Boateng has insisted that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) stands no chance of retaining power if elections were conducted today.

Speaking on Akoma FM, he said certain policies rolled out by the government did not favour the ordinary Ghanaian and has brought so much disaffection for the party.

He also cited the mass unemployment and growing insecurity; adding that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) are gradually gaining the goodwill of Ghanaians and have the odds in their favour.

“The NPP will lose elections should it be held today because the government is gradually becoming unpopular due to some inconsiderate decisions and policies that have attracted backlashes from the masses, so naturally such decisions are weighing the government down into opposition”, he averred.

“While all odds are against the ruling party, NDC are gradually gaining public goodwill, so the pendulum swings to their favour as it stands,” he added.
