NPP Have Fixed All My Roads But I Still Don’t Trust Them – Lydia Forson

Ghanaian actress and outspoken social commentator Lydia Forson has expressed mixed feelings over recent road repairs in her area, completed just three months before the upcoming elections. While appreciative of the improved roads, Forson voiced skepticism about the timing, suggesting that the government’s decision may be politically motivated to secure votes rather than a genuine commitment to infrastructure development.

Forson, known for her candid critiques of government actions, highlighted her distrust on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), pointing out that the road project had been abandoned for years before suddenly receiving attention. Her primary concern is that this may be a temporary effort that could lose momentum after the elections.

In her tweet, Forson stated, “I’m very happy that my road has been done, I’m enjoying it paaaa. But if for years a project has been abandoned and 3 months to an election there’s more progress than in years—I’m going to ask to know WHY? How do I trust that it won’t be abandoned again after the elections?”

Her remarks have sparked discussions on social media, with many Ghanaians resonating with her doubts. Forson’s statement adds to a wider debate about the sustainability of government projects initiated during election periods and reflects citizens’ concerns about whether these developments are for lasting improvement or merely electoral gain.
