NPP Going To IMF Will Be Far Better Than NDC’s Own – Kusi Boafo

The Chief Executive officer of the public sector reforms, Mr. Thomas Kusi Boafo has stated with confidence that Ghana going to the IMF under the ruling New Patriotic Party will be the most favorable compared to the past times Ghana has resorted to the IMF.

On Friday, 1st July 2022, the President of Ghana, Akufo Addo instructed Ghana’s finance minister, Ken Ofori Atta to commence the process to secure financial aid from the international monetary fund.

The Akufo Addo-led Government had stressed that there was no way the Government was going to resort to the IMF if the E levy is passed. Barely three months after the passage and the implementation of the new tax, the Government has not been able to achieve its revenue target forcing them to finally resort to the IMF.

Thomas Kusi Boafo in an early interview on Kessben TV noted weeks ago that the government was only going to head to IMF if 20% of the public sector salary is approved but unfortunately even before any approval Ghana has already turned to IMF.

The CEO of the public sector reforms speaking with Akuoko Kwarteng on Kessben TV’s Amansan Tie after the Government’s decision to go to IMF stressed that this IMF’s resort by the NPP Government will be far better than NDC’s own.

“This IMF we are going will be far better than the NDC’s own. It is going to be the most favorable, I can assure you that. Nobody should be afraid of this. The IMF people themselves know that we have the growth this time” Kusi Boafo said.
