NPP Fires Warning To Its Members Who Are Seeking To Cause Trouble Over MMDCEs List

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has cautioned its members to desist from causing trouble in a bid to express discontent with the President’s nominees for the role of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs)

Last Sunday, government released the list of MMDCE nominees. But since then, parts of the country have recorded pockets of violent protests over the list.

Speaking to citinews, National Youth Organizer of the NPP, Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B) said the security services are on high alerts to deal with such troublemakers.

“All 2,000 aspirants cannot be MMDCEs so certainly 260 names ought to be presented for approval. So they have to be measured in their disappointment. They need to blend the highs and the lows. People should also know that the fact that they are disappointed does not mean they should go about vandalizing properties. So if anyone is caught and prosecuted, it is just a matter of law. So I am calling on the teeming youth to be calm”.

“We also have intel that some miscreants want to use us as a platform to cause trouble. So we are calling on the security agencies to be on the alert”, he further advised.
