A staunch member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ralph Osei-Wusu has made it clear that in electing the next flagbearer, the party must lookout for someone who can maintain political power for them and not the opposite.
Sounding a caution on Wontumi TV, Osei-Wusu stated that anyone who aims to lead the party into the 2024 elections must not “aim to be flagbearer of NPP and stay in opposition like John Mahama”.
He referred to the 2016 and 2020 Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr John Mahama as man who used his position to led his party to opposition.
The race for the flagbearer position of the NPP continues to get heated.
Trade Minister, Alan Kyeremanten and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia are key contenders.
Assin Central lawmaker, Kennedy Agyapong has also declared his intention to contest.
