Now That We’re Paying You With Our Taxes, Be Ready For Scrutiny – MFWA To First, Second Ladies

Rebecca Akufo-Addo and Samira Bawumia, wives of President Akufo-Addo and Vice Mahamudu Bawumia respectively have been told to be ready for public scrutiny since they’re now on government payroll.

Sulemana Braimah, the Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa in a tweet said the first and second ladies must be ready for criticism since they’re now on cabinet-level salaries.

His comment comes after Parliament approved for spouses of sitting and ex presidents to be paid salaries.

“Now that the First Lady and Second Lady are on Cabinet Minister-level salaries, they should be ready for massive public scrutiny. They are now our employees too,” Mr Braimah tweeted.
