Pollster, Ben Ephson has indicated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is likely to face the wrath of the five regions of the north if they fail to make Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia their flagbearer in 2024.
According to him, it’s upto the party to build consensus with regards to who becomes the next Presidential candidate if they seek to avoid any challenges in the 2024 polls.
Speaking on Angel FM, Mr Ephson he noted that should there be an election for party members to decide who leads them in 2024, challenges would still arise whether Bawumia or Alan Kyeremanten is elected.
He noted that the people of Ashanti who believe it’s time for Alan to lead the party will turn their back on the NPP if Bawumia wins. Likewise the people of the North will turn their back on the NPP if Alan wins because they may feel the party is only using them.
