The National Lottery Authority (NLA) through its Good Causes Foundation, an initiative which spearheads the authority’s corporate social responsibility, has commissioned two projects within the Eastern Region of Ghana.
The projects are, the refurbished Mamfe Presbyterian KG/primary school and an ultra-modern police post at Tutu which has a station officer’s office, a CID office, 8 prisoners cells, a counter, and a washroom.
The projects are intended to improve the standard of education as well as enhance security within the various communities.
Osabarima Ansah Sasraku III, the paramount chief of Mamfe who doubles as the Kyidomhene of Akuapem Traditional Area was elated for this act adding that the school needed a face-lift for ages hence, grateful to the national lottery authority for embarking on this project.
Nana Appiah Anti IV, the paramount chief of Tutu Akuapem also speaking at the commissioning of the police post in his town advised the police to comport themselves in the quest to ensure peace and stability in Tutu and its environs. He further urged them not to be distracted by anyone or anything for them to be able to achieve their primary aim.
The Executive Director for the NLA Mr. Sammy Awuku speaking after the commissioning of the two projects emphasized that his outfit through the Good Causes Foundation is trying its best to contribute massively to prevailing sectors which education and security are inclusive; just as has been done today in the Eastern Region.
