Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen, has predicted that the next flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), would be a non-Akan who hails from Mamprusi.
In an interview on Wontumi TV last Saturday, Nana Obiri Boahen who doubles as the deputy General Secretary for the NPP, stated that he won’t mention the name of his candidate due to the rules and regulations the party has put in place surrounding making a declaration for a preferred candidate.
“I don’t want to be at the party’s head office again. I am opening a new political chapter in my life. I am working to bring a person to be flagbearer of the NPP. The person is from Mamprusi, and he wears glasses and smiles a lot”, he said in a form of a parable.
He was confident the Mamprusi gem who “wears glasses and smiles a lot” would win the NPP’s internal Presidential primaries and go on to be elected as President of Ghana.
