The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has announced plans to introduce a weighing and measurement system aimed at ensuring fair trade practices and consumer protection in Ghana. Speaking in Ayeremu, a farming community in the Krachi East Municipality, during a two-day tour, Mr. Nketia emphasized the importance of this initiative in promoting fairness in the marketplace.
The system, he explained, is designed to ensure that consumers receive accurate quantities for their purchases while guaranteeing that farmers and sellers are fairly compensated for their goods and services. Mr. Nketia highlighted that this initiative would help local farmers gain the full value of their produce, enhancing consumer confidence and fostering fair trading practices in the country’s markets.
During his address to the constituents, the NDC Chairman urged them to vote for change in the upcoming 2024 general elections, promising that the NDC would restore the dignity and prestige of the presidency under John Dramani Mahama.
“The change is coming, and like many Ghanaians, I am certain that on December 7, 2024, you will vote for change to end the suffering of this country,” Mr. Nketia said, calling on Ghanaians to support the NDC’s vision to build a better Ghana.
