Netherlands Ambassador ‘Slams’ Suhuyini For Announcing His Visa Denial On Social Media Instead Of…

Jeroen Verheul, the Netherlands Ambassador to Ghana has criticised Tamale North lawmaker, Alhassan Suhuyini for taking to social media to announce his visa denial by the Dutch embassy.

Mr Suhuyini who had earlier applied for Visa had disclosed that he was denied due to the fact that he is part of persons championing the anti-LGBTQ+ bill.

In reaction to the allegation, the Dutch ambassador said Mr Suhuyini could have contacted the embassy directly instead of taking to social media.

“If the visa applicant only spoke to us directly, instead of through the media, we could avoid a lot of misunderstandings and miscommunication in the (social) media. That’s why it is important to have diplomatic relations and bilateral embassies,” Mr Verheul noted.
