NDC Youth Wing Member Refutes Kwadwo Sheldon’s Claims Of Pre-Prepared Questions, Labels Him a ‘Blatant Liar’

The controversy surrounding Kwadwo Sheldon’s decision to decline an invitation to the NDC Youth Manifesto Launch has taken a new turn, with a key member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Wing, Benjamin Madugu Avornyotse, strongly refuting the influencer’s claims. Avornyotse, in a direct and pointed rebuttal, has labeled Sheldon a “blatant liar,” adding further fuel to the ongoing debate.

Avornyotse, who is an active member of the NDC’s National Youth Wing, took to social media to address the issue. In a brief post, he shared a screenshot of what he claims is his only conversation with Sheldon on WhatsApp. According to Avornyotse, this exchange was the sole instance of communication between him and the social media influencer, and at no point was there any mention of pre-prepared questions for Sheldon to ask during the event.

“This is the only time I communicated with Kwadwo Sheldon,” Avornyotse stated, accompanying the message with the screenshot. Avornyotse insists there was no discussion of any pre-prepared questions. Sheldon’s narrative, he maintains, is completely false, and it’s clear he is trying to mislead the public.

The screenshot shared by Avornyotse shows a brief conversation, where the invitation to the NDC Youth Manifesto Launch is extended to Sheldon, but there is no indication of any attempt to script his participation in the event. This contradicts Sheldon’s earlier statement that he declined the invitation because he was handed a pre-prepared question to ask the NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

Avornyotse’s rebuttal has sparked a new wave of reactions on social media, with supporters from both sides weighing in on the dispute. While some back Sheldon’s original claims, others are siding with Avornyotse, questioning the credibility of the influencer’s account.

The escalating tension between Sheldon and the NDC comes at a critical time as Ghana’s political landscape becomes increasingly polarized ahead of the national elections. For many observers, this incident highlights the intricate and often contentious relationship between politics and social media, where narratives can rapidly take shape and influence public opinion.

As the situation unfolds, both parties have dug in their heels, with Sheldon maintaining his stance and Avornyotse pushing back against what he describes as misinformation. The back-and-forth between the influencer and the NDC Youth Wing member serves as a reminder of the power of digital platforms in shaping political discourse, and the responsibility that comes with wielding such influence.

It remains to be seen how this confrontation will affect Sheldon’s reputation and his standing with his followers, as well as how the NDC will manage the fallout from this public disagreement. One thing is certain: the eyes of the nation are keenly watching as this drama continues to play out.
