Information reaching this portal indicates that the NDC allegedly have in their possession, tape recordings of phone conversations in which a Supreme Court Judge was said to have phoned individual NDC MPs trying to bribe them to vote for the NPP’s Candidate, Prof. Aaron Mike Ocquaye as Speaker of Parliament.
Speaking to Emefa Apawu on Joy News’ “The Probe” yesterday, NDC MP for Asawase, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka claimed that a Supreme Court Judge attempted to lead the NPP to bribe a female NDC MP into voting for Prof. Aaron Mike Ocquaye as Speaker of Parliament.
According to Muntaka, this Judge assured the NDC MP that should she accept to vote for the NPP’s Choice of Speaker, she will paid a huge amount of money, and she will be given free fuel for the duration of her 4-year tenure as MP.
Muntaka was reacting to allegations by the leader of the NPP caucus in Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonus, who accused the NDC of infiltrating the NPP and bribing some of the MPs to support the NDC’s preferred candidate for Speaker.
The NDC, according to credible sources, intends to hold their piece of evidence to their chest, and release it to the Public if it becomes necessary.
