NDC Suffers Another Massive Blow As High Court Dismisses Their Injunction Application Against Techiman South MP-Elect

The NDC has suffered another massive blow in their bid to obtain the working majority in Ghana’s soon-to-be inaugurated 8th Parliament, after their application for an injunction against the swearing-in of Techiman South MP-elect, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah was thrown out by a Wenchi High Court.

According to the Court, presided over by Justice Fred Nawura, the NDC was unable to provide sufficient evidence that their candidate, Christopher Beyere Baasongti won that election.

The NDC since the December 7, 2020 elections, have claimed consistently that they won the Techiman South Parliamentary elections even though the Electoral Commission declared otherwise.

Interestingly, the NDC leadership have also offered conflicting figures anytime they have made public statements about the Techiman South Elections.

The Judge in his ruling said, “I shall refuse the Exparte injunction application. I think the people of Techiman South needs a representative at the swearing in. To injunct the 1st respondent will be unfair. At the end of the trial, if it is established that the election was not done properly, I shall make my orders. I hereby refuse the application”
