Following the NDC’s criticism of the government’s digitalization drive, Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), the NPP’s National Youth Organiser, has retaliated.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President, gave a lecture at Ashesi University a few days ago to outline an array of digital policies being implemented by the government to drastically reduce inefficiencies and corruption in public service delivery; improve domestic revenue mobilization; provide financial inclusion and a cash-lite economy, among other things.
The opposition NDC party, on the other hand, has chastised him, questioning why he has abandoned economics in favor of digitalization.
Nana B responded by cautioning the NDC against showing their “ignorance” on the subject.
“It’s quite shocking that the NDC, which has repeatedly demonstrated a lack of knowledge and understanding of digitization and digitalization, could muster the courage to speak out against the unprecedented digital infrastructure being built by this government to make life very simple and easy for Ghanaians,” Nana B said.
He went on to say that “it is common knowledge that the NDC is inept in the realm of digital technology.”
“They couldn’t build up a system to collate their results in the 2016 and 2020 elections – such a fundamental exercise that a first-year IT student could have done with ease, the inept NDC couldn’t do it.”
