NDC Gifts GHC2,000 To Protesting Hygiene Students

The Minority in Parliament have donated a sum of GHC2,000 to the leader of the School of Hygiene who were prevented from demonstrating at the Sanitation Ministry by the police yesterday.

The students, who expressed their displeasure over unpaid allowances set up camp at the Ministry while having their mattresses and cooking utensils ready to stay there until their demands are met.

However, a confrontation with the Police led to their dispersal after they refused to leave the Ministry.

In reaction, Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam Nartey George said the Minority will be give some GHC2,000 to the students to help transport them back to their campuses.

“As a minority caucus in parliament, we are going to be providing you a token amount of GH¢2,000. The NDC minority in parliament stands with you and we echo the words of our flag bearer and running mate.”

“This money is supposed to help you get back to your campuses or to places where you have come from. We will continue to fight in parliament to ensure that what is due you is paid you,” Sam George said.
