NDC Chairman Sacked After Being Found Guilty Of Campaigning For NPP In 2020 Election

The Northern Regional Secretariat of the opposition NDC has taken the decision to dismiss the Party’s Chairman for the Mion Constituency, Alhaji Abdulai Zakaria.

Mr. Abdul Zakaria was sacked after being found guilty of campaigning for the NPP in the 2020 elections.

After thorough investigations by the Northern Regional Disciplinary Committee of the NDC, Alhaji Abdulai Zakaria, was found guilty of the petition of misconduct and anti-party activities filed against him.

The Disciplinary Committee went ahead to make available a report which includes recommendations on the case, to the Northern Regional Functional Executive Committee(NRFEC).

During its meeting on Saturday, November 20, 2021, the NRFEC, acting in accordance with article 48(1) of the NDC Constitution, unanimously adopted the report of the Disciplinary Committee.

This implies that, as recommended by the Disciplinary Committee in its report, Alhaji Abdulai Zakaria is ineligible to hold office in the party for for a period of two years.

Accordingly, Alhaji Zakaria has been directed to return any Party property in his possession and to stop holding himself as Party Chairman.
